Jockey Daniel Ganderton Suspended For 2 Months

Meanwhile, NSW stewards yesterday suspended jockey Daniel Ganderton for 2 months at Canterbury yesterday following what The Sydney Morning Herald described as: "a heated hearing" into Ganderton's ride on the Graham Begg-trained Bennetta (5th) at Canterbury on July 11. Ganderton, whose mount started at $30, "pleaded not guilty to two counts of not taking all reasonable and permissible measures to ensure Bennetta finished in the best possible place", and indicated he would appeal the verdict.
