Oratorio Adds Irish Gr3

Monday, 23rd July 2012

Triple European Gr1-winning shuttler Oratorio (Danehill-Mahrah, by Vaguely Noble) added an Irish group success when The Aga Khan's home-bred 3YO colt Takar (Oratorio-Takarouna, by Green Dancer) scored a 3-lengths victory against older rivals in the €57,500 (A$69,000) Gr3 Minstrel Stakes (7 furlongs) at the Curragh. Takar (ridden by Johnny Murtagh for trainer John Oxx) defeated 3YO filly Singing Bird (Excellent Art-Anna Deesse, by Anabaa) & UK-bred fellow 3YO colt Among Equals (Oasis Dream-First, by Highest Honor). Takar took his record to 4 wins (also including June's Listed Glencairn Stakes over 8 furlongs at Leopardstown & May's Listed Tetrarch Stakes over 7 furlongs at The Curragh) from 6 starts for €113,635 (A$136,000) earnings.
