ARC 3: Tabcorp Boss Warns "Racing Is So Divided"
Australia's Tabcorp Holdings chief executive David Attenborough warned that achieving "a globally efficient way of promoting racing", as other sports with more centralised authorities do, will not be easy. He emphasised: "The hardest thing facing racing is that racing is so divided. It's going to be tough. I see it as a massive exercise & I'm not sure it can be done." Attenborough noted Tabcorp has moved quickly to keep up with the digital revolution, "creating a new website, increasing international & domestic racing coverage & investing in retail distribution over the last 18 months". He declared: "That's how fast you have to move to keep up with your customers. We're investing over $150 million a year to keep up with our customers. We're watching, we're changing, we're adapting."
