Choisir Adds UK Gr2

Monday, 16th July 2012

Multiple Gr1-winning Coolmore shuttler & former star Australian sprinter Choisir (Danehill Dancer-Great Selection, by Lunchtime) added a UK juvenile group success when Irish-bred colt Olympic Glory (Choisir-Acidanthera, by Alzao) scored by a head in the £60,000 (A$90,000) Gr2 Superlative Stakes (7 furlongs) for 2YOs at Newmarket. Olympic Glory (ridden by Richard Hughes for trainer Richard Hannon) defeated fellow Irish-bred colts Birdman (Danehill Dancer-Gilded Vanity, by Indian Ridge) & Maxentius (Holy Roman Emperor-Guantanamera, by Sadler's Wells). Olympic Glory was a £65,000 (A$98,000) yearling at the 2011 Doncaster Bloodstock August Sale. Overall he now has 2 wins & a runner-up (in June's Gr2 Coventry Stakes over 6 furlongs at Royal Ascot) from 3 starts for £55,536 (A$83,000) earnings.
