Japan Yearlings: $1.853m Deep Impact Colt
Nobutaka Tada's Globe Equine Management paid ¥150 million (A$1.853m) for another colt by multiple Gr1-winning & dual Japanese Horse-Of-The-Year Deep Impact (out of Great Sunrise) consigned by Teruya Yoshida's Shadai Farm. This colt is a half-brother to Gr1 Shuka Sho winner Red Desire & Tada confirmed: "I bought him for a partnership including Hidetoshi Yamamoto. He is a son of great sire & is a very good walker. And he is 3-parts brother to Red Desire, who won a Gr1 in Japan & Gr2 in Dubai for Tokyo Horse Racing, the racing club owned by Mr Yamamoto. I knew Mr Yamamoto would really like to get him. First of all, we need to talk to the members of Tokyo Horse Racing, asking if they want to own the shares of this colt. If they say this colt is too expensive to be owned by the club members, Mr Yamamoto will think about forming a partnership with his friends, who are existing JRA owners."
