Monday, 2nd July 2012

Gr1-winning former Vinery Stud shuttler Brahms (Danzig-Queens, by Mr Prospector) added a black-type success when 6YO gelding Belltone (Brahms-Belle Salieri, by Salieri) notched his 2nd successive stakes win in a fortnight with a 1.5-lengths victory in the $175,000 Listed Glasshouse Handicap (1400m) at the Sunshine Coast. Belltone (ridden by Chris Munce for trainer Kelso Wood) defeated favoured 4YO gelding Jetset Lad (Elusive City-Jetset Lass, by Jetball) & 5YO mare Varenna (Redoute's Choice-Mica's Pride, by Bite The Bullet). Belltone took his record to 8 wins (also including last start's Listed Eye Liner Stakes over 1350m at Ipswich on June 16) & 9 placings (including last start's Gr2 QTC Cup over 1300m at Eagle Farm on June 2) from 25 starts for $413,550 earnings.
