Aust Jockey Baster Singapore Licence Extension

The Singapore Turf Club has granted Australian rider Stephen Baster 6-months extension to his current Club Jockey's Licence (from July 1-December 31). Former Melbourne-based Baster, 37, has notched 28 wins at Kranji since beginning his initial 6-months licence period in January & currently sits 3rd on the Singapore jockeys premiership. Baster (who boasts over 1,000 career winners) rides mostly in Singapore for trainers Michael Freedman, Steven Burridge & Leslie Khoo.


The Japan Racing Horse Association announced 250 yearlings & 226 foals will be offered at the annual July Select Sale (9-10-July) at Northern Horse Park near New Chitose Airport. The catalogue will be available at jrha-selectsale.com on Monday June 11. Boom stallion Deep Impact is represented by 14 yearlings & 16 foals, while King Kamehameha is represented by 18 yearlings & 19 foals, plus Neo Universe is represented by 14 yearlings & 9 foals. In addition, the yearling session features the 1st yearling by Sea The Stars offered at public auction in 2012 & the foal session features the 1st-crop by Empire Maker in Japan.
