Waikato Stud stallion No Excuse Needed (Machiavellian-Nawaiet, by Zilzal) added a NZ group success when 5YO gelding Justanexcuse (No Excuse Needed-Aggressive, by Val Dansant) scored a 1.25-lengths victory in the NZ$70,000 weight-for-age Gr3 Challenge Stakes (1400m) at Awapuni. Justanexcuse (ridden by Darryl Bradley for trainer Lisa Latta) defeated 4YO mare Twilight Savings (Secret Savings-Ghemashah, by Danewin) & Australian-bred 7YO gelding Joku (Xaar-Biru Lang, by Pine Bluff).
