Stronach Associate Makes Large Florida Land Buy

Thursday, 28th July 2011

In Florida, Mike Rogers (a racing & business manager to Frank Stronach’s Adena Springs operations) was involved in what long-time local property appraiser Mike McVey called the “largest land sale I can remember” earlier this month, reported thoroughbredtimes.com. Rogers (as manager/member of Plum Springs LLC) purchased 7,376 acres of land along Lake Kerr in the Ocala National Forest for US$13,276,800 & Ocala’s Star-Banner newspaper reported those familiar with the purchase believe Rogers “made the purchase on behalf of wealthy horseman & industrialist Frank Stronach”. Rogers is also the manager of Sleepy Creek Lands LLC, which bought approximately 5,500 acres south of the Plum Creek land in July 2010 for US$9.9 million. The Star-Banner noted Sleepy Creek’s mailing address “is the same as other automotive & entertainment entities founded & operated by Stronach”. Rogers told the newspaper: “It's just an investment. I'd rather have the land than having the cash in the bank.”
