Monday, 25th July 2011

Multiple Gr1-winning sire Bel Esprit (Royal Academy-Bespoken, by Vain) added a black-type success (& 12th individual stakes-winner) when 5YO gelding Work The Room (Bel Esprit-Social Scene, by Grand Lodge) motored home from last-in-running to score a 1-length victory in the $80,000 Listed Tattersall’s Mile (1600m) at Eagle Farm in Brisbane. Work The Room (ridden by Paul Hammersley for trainer Robert Heathcote) defeated 6YO gelding Silent Movie (Royal Academy-Quiet Aggie, by Alleged) & fellow 5YO gelding Frozone (Reset-Ice Maiden, by O'Reilly). Work The Room (a $160,000 yearling consigned from Amarina Farm at the 2007 Inglis Easter Sale in Sydney) is a half-brother to dual Gr1-winner, 5-time Gr2-winner & 5-time Gr1-placed evergreen 9YO gelding Zipping (Danehill-Social Scene) who has earned over $4.5 million. Work The Room took his record to 4 wins & 5 placings from 13 starts for $135,851 earnings. (Click on the link for full race details from Group Race Results at AAP Racing.)
