Danedream Wins German Gr1 Preis Von Berlin

In Germany overnight, 3YO filly Danedream (Lomitas-Danedrop, by Danehill) blitzed her older rivals by 5-lengths in the €175,000 (A$236,000) Gr1 Grosser Preis Von Berlin (2400m) at Hoppegarten. Danedream (ridden by Andrasch Starke for trainer Peter Schiergen) defeated 4YO entire Scalo (Lando-Sky Dancing, by Exit To Nowhere) & French-bred 5YO mare Superstition (Kutub-Secada, by Saint Andrews). Danedream was a €9,000 (A$12,100) purchase at the 2010 BBA June Sale; overall she now has 3 wins (also including May’s Italian Gr2 Oaks D’Italia over 2200m at San Siro) & 4 placings (including May’s Italian Gr2 Derby Italiano over 2200m at the Capannelle, plus 2010’s Gr3 Preis Der Winterkonigin over 1600m at Baden-Baden, Listed Oppenheim-Rennen over 1400m at Cologne & French listed Criterium Du Fonds Europeen De L’Elevage over 1600m at Deauville) from 10 starts for €428,466 (A$578,000) earnings.
