Acclamation Wins US Gr1 Eddie Read Stakes

In the US, front-running 5YO entire Acclamation (Unusual Heat-Winning In Style, by Silveyville) notched his 2nd successive Gr1 triumph with a 3.25-lengths victory in the US$300,000 Gr1 Eddie Read Stakes (9 furlongs on turf) at Del Mar in California. Acclamation (ridden by Joel Rosario for trainer Donald Warren) defeated fellow 5YO entire Jeranimo (Congaree-Jera, by Jeblar) & 4YO gelding Caracortado (Cat Dreams-Mons Venus, by Maria's Mon). Acclamation took his record to 7 wins (also including June’s Gr1 Charles Whittingham Memorial Handicap over 10 furlongs at Hollywood Park & May’s Gr2 Jim Murray Memorial Handicap over 12 furlongs at Hollywood Park, plus 2010’s Gr1 Charles Whittingham Memorial Handicap over 10 furlongs at Hollywood Park & Gr2 Jim Murray Memorial Handicap over 12 furlongs at Hollywood Park) & 8 placings (including 2010’s Gr2 Strub Stakes over 9 furlongs at Santa Anita, plus 2009's Gr1 Hollywood Derby over 10 furlongs at Hollywood Park, Gr2 San Gabriel Handicap over 9 furlongs at Santa Anita, Gr2 Del Mar Derby over 9 furlongs & Listed Ralph Hinds Handicap over 9 furlongs at Fairplex Park) from 26 starts for US$938,048 earnings.
