Aust Govt "Seeking Clarification" On Malaysia Ban

However abc.net.au reported this morning that “the Federal Government says it has not been told Malaysia has banned the importation of horses from Australia because of the Hendra virus outbreak” & a spokesman for Agriculture Minister Joe Ludwig said the government “is asking the Malaysian Government for clarification”. Australia “is an important supplier of thoroughbred horses for racing in Malaysia & it is estimated the nation's yearly import of horseflesh is worth 1 billion ringgit (A$310 million)”.
