Aussie Rules Adds German Black-Type
In Germany overnight, dual Gr1-winning shuttler Aussie Rules (Danehill-Last Second, by Alzao) added a black-type success when Irish-bred daughter Djumama (Aussie Rules-Western Sky, by Barathea) scored a half-length victory in the €20,000 (A$27,000) Listed Diana-Trial (2200m) for 3YO fillies at Dusseldorf. Djumama (ridden by Andreas Helfenbein for trainer Andreas Lowe) defeated Leopardin (Areion-Lolli Pop, by Cagliostro) & Next Holly (Holy Roman Emperor-Night Petticoat, by Petoski). Djumama was a 5,000 guineas (A$7,800) weanling at the 2008 UK Tattersalls December Sale & subsequently a 22,000 guineas (A$34,000) yearling at the 2009 Tattersalls December Sale. Previously this year, she won May’s Gr3 Schwarzgold-Rennen (1600m) at Cologne; & last year Djumama also won Germany's Gr3 Preis Der Winterkonigin (1600m) at Baden-Baden.
