In Europe, former Australian superstar & now 7-time Gr1-winning 4YO entire So You Think (High Chaparral-Triassic, by Tights) has “closed the gap” on unbeaten 3YO colt Frankel (Galileo-Kind, by Danehill) “to be named Cartier Horse-Of-The-Year & stretched his lead in the Older Horse category courtesy of his thrilling win over Workforce in the UK Gr1 Coral-Eclipse Stakes” at Sandown, reported racingpost.com. His latest win means the Aidan O'Brien-trained So You Think “has now bagged 84 points for the season, which leaves him 20 behind Frankel but 12 clear of his Royal Ascot conqueror Rewilding”. The Cartier Awards (established in 1991 to “reward excellence in horseracing”) are determined by points earned in European Pattern races throughout 2011, combined at the end of season with the opinions of a panel of racing journalists & votes from readers of the Racing Post & Britain’s The Daily Telegraph.
