Thursday, 14th July 2011

In the US auction ring, agent John Moynihan (acting for a partnership of Stonestreet Stables, now owned by the late Jess Jackson’s widow Barbara Banke, and George Bolton) paid top price of US$310,000 for a colt by WinsStar Farm stallion Harlan’s Holiday (the 1st foal out of stakes-placed winning 7YO Include mare Acrosstheborder) during the 1-day Fasig-Tipton Kentucky Selected Summer Yearling Sale (reduced from 2 days last year) at Newtown Paddocks in Lexington. The colt was consigned by Crossroads Sales Agency & Crossroads’ Greg Burchell told bloodhorse.com: “He’s a big, physical colt with great presence. He has a wonderful constitution. He is by a productive stallion right now. His mother put some size on him. He has a beautiful walk & a lovely body.”
