Wednesday, 13th July 2011

Also in Argentina, unbeaten classic-winning Patinack Farm freshman stallion Husson (Hussonet-Villa Elisa, by Roy) recorded his 1st stakes-winner when 2YO filly Lady Hussey (Husson-Tula, by Forlitano) scored a 2-lengths victory in the Listed Clasico Eusonio Boni (1100m) for 2YOs at Hipodromo de La Plata in Buenos Aires. Lady Hussy (ridden by Abel Giorgis for trainer Marcelo Sueldo) defeated fellow fillies Bandurria Cat (Easing Along-Amiga Bay, by Corwyn Bay) & Embassy Note (Editor's Note-Embeauty, by Equalize). Lady Hussy’s sire Husson (who retired to stud duties at Patinack undefeated in all 5 starts & a world record holder) is standing the upcoming breeding season for $22,000 at Patinack's NSW Hunter Valley farm. Husson was Argentina's 2006 champion 2YO, winning races by dominant margins of up to 9 lengths; he also ran times that placed him in the highest categories on world rankings, setting a world record for 1400m of 1min 18.98sec. Husson trained on as a 3YO to remain unbeaten & at 1600m convincingly defeated Asiatic Boy (UAE 3YO Triple Crown winner & subsequent runner-up in the Gr1 Dubai World Cup).
