Last Kingmambo Foal In Arqana Sale

Meanwhile in France, the last foal sired by US triple Gr1-winning Lane's End Farm pensioned stallion Kingmambo (Mr Prospector-Miesque, by Nureyev) is scheduled to be offered during the Arqana August Yearling Sale in Deauville. The colt (bred in Kentucky by Mueller Farms & Bluegrass Farm Partners) is from US Gr3-winning Corporate Report mare Queen Of Money & “was the only member of Kingmambo’s 2010 foal crop” noted bloodhorse.com. Kingmambo raced as a home-bred for Stavros Niarchos & won France's Gr1 Poule d'Essai des Poulains-2000 Guineas & Gr1 Prix du Moulin de Longchamp, plus the UK Gr1 St James's Palace Stakes in 1993; he retired with wins or placings in 11 of 13 races & earnings of US$733,139. Kingmambo entered stud in 1994 & stood his entire career at Lane's End; he started his career at US$45,000 & later stood for as high as US$300,000. Kingmambo's champion progeny (among 90 individual stakes-winners world-wide) include: US 2000 champion older horse & 1999 Gr1 Belmont Stakes winner Lemon Drop Kid (who stands at Lane's End); Japan's champion 3YO male of 2004 King Kamehameha; 1999 Japanese Horse-Of-The-Year El Condor Pasa; & multiple Gr1-winners Divine Proportions, Russian Rhythm & Henrythenavigator.
