Tuesday, 12th July 2011

In Japan, leading agent Nobutaka Tada's Global Equine Management paid a new sale record of ¥360 million (US$4.39m) for a filly by dual Horse-Of-The-Year Deep impact (the 9th foal out of fellow Horse-Of-The-Year & Gr1 Japanese Oaks-Gr1 Tenno Sho winning Tony Bin mare Air Groove) during yesterday’s opening session at the 2-day Japan Racing Horse Association July Select Sale (1 day of yearlings, followed by 1 day of foals) at Northern Horse Park. The filly was consigned by Katsumi Yoshida's Northern Farm. (The previous highest price for a yearling at the sale was ¥250m in 2007, while last year's top yearling was ¥66m.)
