Monday, 11th July 2011

Triple Gr1-winning former shuttler & dual German Horse-Of-The-Year Tiger Hill (Danehill-The Filly, by Appiani) added a US graded-stakes success when Australia’s Moonee Valley Racing Club chairman Robert Scarborough’s UK-bred 4YO mare Cheetah (Tiger Hill-Kassiyra, by Kendor) scored a 3.75-lengths victory in the US$202,000 Gr3 Robert Dick Memorial Stakes (11 furlongs on turf) for fillies & mares at Delaware Park. Cheetah (ridden by Jose Lezcano for trainer Christophe Clement) defeated Brazilian-bred 6YO mare Bubbly Jane (Yagli-Built To Last, by Knifebox) & fellow UK-bred 4YO mare Dyna Waltz (Dynaformer-Valentine Waltz, by Be My Guest). Cheetah was a 180,000 guineas (A$279,000) purchase at the 2010 UK Tattersalls December Sale. Overall he now has 4 wins (also including 2010’s UK Listed Wild Flower Stakes over 10 furlongs at Kempton Park) & 3 placings (including May’s Gr2 Sheepshead Bay Handicap over 11 furlongs at Belmont Park) from 9 starts for US$209,959 earnings.
