1st Winner For Freshman Sire Heliostatic

Friday, 8th July 2011

In the UK overnight, Irish-bred 8YO freshman stallion Heliostatic (Galileo-Affianced, by Erins Isle) recorded his 1st winner when Irish-bred 2YO colt Crius (Heliostatic-Fearless Flyer, by Brave Act) scored over 7 furlongs at Warwick for trainer Richard Hannon. Crius was an 18,000 guineas (A$28,000) yearling at the 2010 UK Tattersalls October Sale. His sire Heliostatic (a full-brother to 2007's Gr1 Irish Derby winner Soldier Of Fortune) won 3 races (including Ireland's Gr3 Meld Stakes over 10 furlongs at Leopardstown & Listed Silver Stakes over 10 furlongs at The Curragh) before retiring to stud for the 2008 season; he stands at Ireland’s Oak Lodge Stud this year for €5,000 (A$6,800).
