Wednesday, 6th July 2011

In the US, Lane’s End Farm & Dixiana Farms “have purchased a majority interest” in this year’s Gr1-winning 4YO entire Morning Line (Tiznow-Indian Snow, by A.P.Indy) who will “remain in training with Nick Zito” & eventually “stand at Lane’s End Farm upon his future retirement” reported bloodhorse.com. Morning Line (a US$700,000 yearling at the 2008 Keeneland September Sale) currently boasts 4 wins (including April’s Gr1 Carter Handicap over 7 furlongs at Aqueduct & 2010's Gr2 Pennsylvania Derby over 9 furlongs at Philadelphia Park) & 5 placings (including February's Gr1 Donn Handicap over 9 furlongs at Gulfstream Park & January's Gr3 Hal's Hope Handicap over 8 furlongs at Gulfstream Park, plus 2010's Gr1 Breeders' Cup Dirt mile over 8 furlongs at Churchill Downs) from 11 starts for US$1.115 million earnings; at his latest start, he finished 5th in last weekend’s Gr3 Salvator Mile (8 furlongs) at Monmouth Park & is now being aimed at August’s Gr1 Whitney Stakes at Saratoga. Lane’s End owner Will Farish commented: “We are extremely impressed with Morning Line’s race record over the past year & feel he has the potential to make an outstanding sire with his striking good looks & exceptional pedigree.”
