O'Brien Says 3rd Cox Plate "Possible" For So You Think

Monday, 4th July 2011

Meanwhile trainer Aidan O’Brien revealed immediately after So You Think’s Gr1 Coral-Eclipse victory that he is considering “a possible return to Australia” to attempt to win his 3rd successive Gr1 Cox Plate at Moonee Valley in Melbourne on October 22. O’Brien confirmed: “We are having a little issue with quarantine, but the Cox Plate is a definite possibility, if we can sort that out. And he is also open to the Gr1 Juddmonte International (at York in England on August 17) or Gr1 Irish Champion Stakes (at Leopardstown on September 3). He is a very unique horse who is really enjoying it now. He’s getting professional & is starting to relax now - when he came down to us, for a horse that had had a lot of racing, he was still a bit babyish; but he has got into the routine very well, and improved & improved.”
