NZ Star King's Rose Joins Moody For Melb Spring

Monday, 4th July 2011

Top New Zealand 3YO filly King's Rose (Redoute's Choice-Nureyev's Girl, by Nureyev) who won this season's NZ Filly-Of-The-Year series (with victories in the Gr1 NZB 1000 Guineas over 1600m at Riccarton Park, Gr2 Cambridge Stud Sir Tristram Fillies Classic over 2000m at Te Rapa, Gr2 NZB Royal Stakes over 2000m at Ellerslie & Gr3 Eulogy Stakes over 1600m at Awapuni) “has been relocated to leading Victorian trainer Peter Moody for her Melbourne Spring campaign” reported NZ Thoroughbred Marketing. Kiwi agent Marcus Corban (who had “extensive discussions” with trainer Jason Bridgman & owner-breeder Dr Gene Tsoi regarding the transition) commented: “We felt that in everyone’s interests it was the best decision. The trip away from NZ will be a good experience & the plan at this stage is for her to return to Jason’s care after the Melbourne Carnival. Jason has a heavy commitment with his team at home & this way Peter can have her from the outset & get to know her. She spelled fantastically & looks unbelievable; she’s really bulked up & Peter will have plenty to work with.”
