Mr Greeley Adds US Gr3

Former Victorian shuttler Mr Greeley (Gone West-Long Legend, by Reviewer) added a US graded-stakes success when 5YO entire Kensei (Mr Greeley-Private Feeling, by Belong To Me) scored a 0.75-length victory in the US$200,000 Gr3 Salvator Mile Stakes (8 furlongs) at Monmouth Park. Kensei (ridden by Edgar Prado for trainer Steve Asmussen) defeated 4YO entires Soaring Empire (Empire Maker-Flying Passage, by A.P.Indy) & Rule (Roman Ruler-Rockcide, by Personal Flag). Kensei (a US$300,000 2YO at the 2008 Barretts May Sale) took his record to 5 wins (also including 2009’s Gr2 Jim Dandy Stakes over 9 furlongs at Saratoga & Gr2 Dwyer Stakes over 8.5 furlongs at Belmont Park) & 5 placings (including March’s Listed Santana Mile Handicap over 8 furlongs at Santa Anita & 2010’s Listed Duncan Kenner Handicap over 6 furlongs at Fair Grounds, plus 2009’s Gr2 Jerome Handicap over 8 furlongs at Belmont Park, Gr2 Woody Stephens Stakes over 7 furlongs at Belmont Park & Gr3 Derby Trial Stakes over 7.5 furlongs at Churchill Downs) from 17 starts for US$731,364 earnings.
