Willy Jimmy Wins Strawberry Road Handicap

Former shuttler Dehere (Deputy Minister-Sister Dot, by Secretariat) added a black-type success when 5YO gelding Willy Jimmy (Dehere-Hula Wonder, by Hula Chief) scored a 1.25-lengths victory in the $80,000 Listed Strawberry Road Handicap (1600m) at Eagle Farm. Willy Jimmy (ridden by Rod Quinn for trainer Guy Walter) defeated favoured 4YO mare St Germaine (Keeper-Selenium, by Straight Strike) & fellow 5YO gelding Frozone (Reset-Ice Maiden, by O'Reilly). Willy Jimmy (a $230,000 yearling consigned by Corumbene Stud at the 2007 Inglis Easter Sale in Sydney) now has 7 wins & 5 placings (including May’s Listed Scone Cup over 1600m) from 25 starts for $244,930 earnings.
