Tuesday, 14th June 2011

In Korea, US-bred stallion Ft. Stockton (Cure The Blues-Tai The Devil, by Tai) “was found dead” aged 19, reported racingpost.com. Texas-bred Ft. Stockton retired to stud in Korea in 1998 as the winner of 7 of 31 starts (including the Gr3 Jersey Shore Breeders' Cup, Listed Hirsch Jacobs Stakes & Listed Arlington Breeders' Cup Sprint Handicap). He “went on to exert a major influence on the Korean racing industry”; among his leading performers were J.S. Hold (winner of the inaugural Triple Crown in 2007, including a 10-lengths victory in that year's Derby, who retired with 9 wins from 10 starts), 2005 President's Cup winner French Dancer & 2009 Minister's Cup winner Namdo Jeap.
