Friday, 10th June 2011

In France, Japanese-bred & Kentucky-based multiple Gr1-winning 10-year-old freshman stallion Hat Trick (Sunday Silence-Tricky Code, by Lost Code) recorded his 1st winner when 2YO colt Dabirsim (Hat Trick-Rumored, by Royal Academy) scored on debut by 10-lengths over 1200m at La Teste de Buche for trainer Christophe Ferland. Dabirsim (a half-brother to US stakes-winner Preferred Yield) was a €30,000 (A$41,000) yearling at France’s 2010 Arqana August Sale. His sire Hat Trick (whose dam Tricky Code was a Gr2-winner of over US$600,000) stands for US$6,000 at Walmac Farm in Lexington & has 68 2YOs in his 1st-crop. On the track, Hat Trick won 8 of 21 starts for US$3,122,708 earnings; he was named Japanese Champion Sprinter-Miler in 2005 after he won both the Gr1 Hong Kong International Mile (1600m) at Sha Tin & Gr1 Japan Mile Championship (1600m) at Kyoto in a track record 1min 32.1sec.
