Friday, 29th October 2010

In the UK auction ring overnight, the 4-day Tattersalls Autumn Horses-In-Training Sale concluded with 865 lots sold for a cumulative 17,577,300 guineas (A$29.003m) which was up 0.69% on last year. The final average of 20,321 guineas (A$33,500) was up 5.1% & the median of 9,000 guineas (A$14,900) remained the same as last year. Tattersalls chairman Edmond Mahony summed up: "Our October Yearling Sales achieved figures broadly in line with last year's returns & the trade this week at the Autumn Horses-In-Training Sale has performed very similarly. In many ways it has been a typical Autumn Sale - huge numbers of overseas buyers at all levels of the market, combined with solid domestic demand."
