A team of Australian academics has found "Vitamin K deficiency is widespread in non-free-range animals, including horses". In the latest issue of Breeding&Racing Magazine (out this week) they explain how Vitamin K plays a key function in the bone density of growing horses & declare bluntly: "A horse grazing fresh green pasture will get sufficient Vitamin K, a stable-fed horse will not."
