Troutt Becomes Sole Owner Of WinStar Farm
In Kentucky overnight, Kenny Troutt "who started WinStar Farm with Bill Casner" announced he "is now the sole owner of the farm & Casner the farm's largest client" reported bloodhorse.com. Troutt noted: "My partnership with Bill has been great. Although we won't be direct partners on the farm, there will be many opportunities to partner going forward. The industry should take comfort in knowing that WinStar is my main focus after my faith & family. As my children have grown over the last 10 years, I can see the possibilities with them for the future. We look forward to the opportunities that lie ahead." Casner added: "The dissolution of my partnership with Kenny is a business strategy that is mutually beneficial at this point in our lives. The relationship that Kenny & I have remains unchanged & we are still the closest of friends." Casner & Troutt formed WinStar after purchasing Prestonwood Farm from brothers Art, Jack & J.R.Preston in 2000. WinStar currently stands major sires Distorted Humor, Speightstown & Tiznow "plus successful up-and-comer Bluegrass Cat". This year WinStar "is enjoying an exceptional year", having won both the Gr1 Kentucky Derby with home-bred Super Saver & Gr1 Belmont Stakes with Drosselmeyer (who is by Distorted Humor).
