Shock Value Wins Birthday Stakes

Rangeview Stud stallion Key Business (Success Express-Business Babe, by Bletchingly) added a black-type success when 5YO gelding Shock Value (Key Business-Graceton, by Fimiston) prevailed in a 3-way photo-finish to the $80,000 Listed Birthday Stakes (1200m) at Belmont Park in Perth. Shock Value (ridden by Jason Brown for trainer Jim Taylor) scored by a neck from 6YO entire & stable-mate Famous Roman (Danetime-Famous Friend, by Marooned) with a further nose to 6YO gelding Colour Correct (High Yield-Never Blue, by Military Plume). Shock Value (a $100,000 yearling consigned by Rangeview at the 2007 Magic Millions Perth Sale) now has 8 wins & 6 placings (including last start's Listed Belmont Newmarket Handicap over 1200m at Belmont Park on August 7, plus April's Listed Miss Andretti Stakes over 1200m at Ascot & March's Listed WATC Stakes over 1100m at Ascot) from 18 starts for $336,500 earnings.
