Ave Wins US Gr1 Flower Bowl Stakes

Former Coolmore shuttler Danehill Dancer (Danehill-Mira Adonde, by Sharpen Up) added US Gr1 triumph when UK-bred 4YO mare Ave (Danehill Dancer-Anna Amalia, by In The Wings) scored by a head in the US$500,000 Gr1 Flower Bowl Invitational Stakes (10 furlongs on turf) at Belmont Park. Ave (ridden by Javier Castellano for trainer Roger Attfield) defeated Irish-bred 5YO mare Changing Skies (Sadler's Wells-Magnificient Style, by Silver Hawk) & Japanese-bred 4YO mare Red Desire (Manhattan Cafe-Great Sunrise, by Caerleon). Ave took her record to 4 wins (including 2009's Irish Gr3 Denny Cordell Stakes over 9 furlongs at Gowran Park & UK Listed Upavon Fillies Stakes over 10 furlongs at Salisbury) & 5 placings (including July's Canada Gr2 Dance Smartly Handicap over 9 furlongs at Woodbine, June's US Gr2 New York Stakes over 10 furlongs at Belmont Park & May's US Gr3 Gallorette Handicap over 8.5 furlongs at Pimlico, plus 2009's UK Listed Lyric Stakes over 10.5 furlongs at York) from 13 starts for US$540,196 earnings.
