HK Sprint Star Inspiration Entry For Aust Gr1 Lightning
Expatriate Australian trainer John Moore told the South China Morning Post that Australian-bred 5YO gelding Inspiration (Flying Spur-La Bamba, by Last Tycoon) who won last weekend's Gr1 Hong Kong International Sprint (1200m) at Sha Tin (ridden by Australian jockey Darren Beadman) will be included among preliminary entries for Australia's Gr1 Lightning Stakes (1000m) at Flemington in Melbourne on January 31. Moore told the newspaper: "Now that he's won at international level, there is really no choice but to press forward with him in races of this kind. I think the main thing with him is to keep him fresh. He's always sprinted very well when he's been trained that way." Inspiration (a $420,000 yearling consigned by Arrowfield Stud at the 2005 Inglis Easter Sale in Sydney) boasts 7 wins & 8 placings from 23 starts for over HK$11.5 million (A$2.3m) earnings.
