Gold Rum Wins NZ Mason Appliances Stakes

Windsor Park-based dual Gr1-winning sire Golan (Spectrum-Highland Gift, by Generous) added an NZ black-type success when unbeaten gelding Gold Rum (Golan-Gold Class, by Gold Brose) scored by a half-head in the NZ$60,000 Listed Mason Appliances Stakes (1400m) for 4YOs at Pukekura Raceway in New Plymouth. Gold Rum (ridden by Jarrod Todd for trainer Graham Thomas) defeated favoured gelding Abbey Way (Encosta De Lago-Forlorna, by Nashwan) & fellow gelding Clyde River (Danske-Luzarches, by Alzao). Gol Rum (passed-in for NZ$16,000 as a yearling at the NZB Select Sale) now has 3 successive wins for $47,813 earnings.
