Monday, 22nd September 2008

NZ Cambridge Stud's multiple champion sire Zabeel (Sir Tristram-Lady Giselle, by Nureyev) added a black-type success when 4YO entire Zagreb (Zabeel-Dansino, by Danehill) scored a half-length victory in the $100,000 Listed Naturalism Stakes (2000m) at Caulfield. Zagreb (ridden by Craig Williams for trainer David Hayes) defeated 5YO gelding Light Vision (Zerpour-Switches, by Naturalism) & top-weighted 7YO gelding Baughurst (Tayasu Tsuyoshi-Mrs Parnell, by At Talaq). Zagreb now has 3 wins (also including March's Listed Chairman's Stakes over 2000m at Morphettville) & 2 runners-up (in last month's Listed D'Urban Stakes over 1700m at Caulfield on August 30 & April's Gr1 South Australian Derby over 2500m at Morphettville) from 9 starts for $218,630 earnings.
