1st Winner For US Freshman Sire Champali

US multiple Gr3-winning 8YO freshman sire Champali (Glitterman-Radioactivity, by Dixieland Band) recorded his 1st winner when 2YO filly Champ Laila (Champali-Valid Deduction, by Big Bet) scored by 5-lengths over 5.5 furlongs at Turfway Park for trainer Greg Foley, reported thoroughbredtimes.com. Champali (a full-brother to multiple stakes-winner Drexel Monorail) stood the 2008 season for US$7,500 at Glencrest Farm in Kentucky & has 58 2YOs in his 1st-crop. On the track, Champali notched 11 wins (including both the 2002 Gr3 Iroquois Stakes & 2004 Gr3 Aristides Breeders' Cup Handicap at Churchill Downs, plus 2004 Gr3 Smile Sprint Handicap at Calder & 2004 Gr3 Phoenix Breeders' Cup Stakes at Keeneland) from 22 starts for US$1,073,794 earnings.
