Barathea Adds Irish Gr3

Former Widden Stud shuttler Barathea (Sadler's Wells-Brocade, by Habitat) added an Irish group success overnight when UK-bred 5YO stallion Jumbajukiba (Barathea-Danseuse Du Soir, by Thatching) scored a 1.75-lengths victory in the €75,000 (A$128,000) Gr3 Solonaway Stakes (8 furlongs) at The Curragh to claim this race for the 2nd successive year. Jumbajukiba (ridden by Fran Berry for trainer Jessica Harrington) defeated the 3YO fillies Prima Luce (Galileo-Ramona, by Desert King) & Mystical Lady (Halling-Lady Icarus, by Rainbow Quest). Previously this season, Jumbajukiba also won Ireland's Gr3 Minstrel Stakes (7 furlongs) at The Curragh & Gr3 Gladness Stakes (7 furlongs) at The Curragh, as well as finishing runner-up in the Listed Celebration Stakes (8 furlongs) at the Curragh. During 2007 he won Ireland's Listed Solonaway Stakes (8 furlongs) at The Curragh & Listed Platinum Stakes (8 furlongs) at Cork. Overall Jumbajukiba now has 7 wins & 3 placings from 22 starts for £231,660 (A$486,000) earnings.
