Kentucky Yearlings Day-2: US$1m A.P.Indy Filly

Wednesday, 10th September 2008

Sheikh Mohammed's bloodstock manager John Ferguson paid US$1 million for an A.P.Indy filly (the 1st foal out of Gr1-winning Smart Strike mare Shadow Cast) consigned by Lane's End as agent. The filly was bred by Farish & Farish TGP & Ferguson told bloodhorse.com: "Shadow Cast is a great mare & this was another real quality A.P.Indy filly. The long & the short it is that, really, it's a repeat of the (US$3.1 million) Chimichurri (yearling) yesterday in that she's a real classy individual out of a top mare & by a great stallion. Sheikh Mohammed described her as looking like a Saluki, which is a thing that is very dear to his heart. It is a particularly beautiful dog & fast."
