Heavenly Glow Injured & Retired To Stud
Last season's Australian Champion 3YO Filly Heavenly Glow (Spinning World-Starsphere, by Celestial Bounty) has been retired "after pulling up sore" following a trial at Rosehill on Tuesday & a subsequent veterinary inspection which revealed the now 4YO mare "was lame with knee issues that forced vets to recommend immediate retirement," reported racenet.com.au. Owner & former trainer Ross Stitt coinfirmed: "She just wouldn't stretch out in her trial & we got the vet to have a look at her & unfortunately she's finished." Heavenly Glow (a $10,000 yearling at the 2006 Magic Millions Winter Sale) notched 9 wins (including this year's Gr1 Australian Oaks over 2400m at Randwick, Gr1 Arrowfield Stud Stakes over 2000m at Rosehill & Gr3 Hidden Dragon Doomben Roses over 2020m) & 4 placings (including this year's Gr1 Queensland Oaks over 2400m at Eagle Farm & Listed Keith Nolan Classic over 1600m at Kembla Grange) from 17 starts for $792,360 earnings.
