UK Trainer Channon Seriously Injured In Car Crash

Fellow high-profile trainer Mick Channon "was recuperating in hospital " overnight "after suffering serious injuries in a car crash that killed his life-long friend, bloodstock agent & racehorse owner Tim Corby," reported racingpost.co.uk. Channon, 59, "suffered broken ribs, a broken arm, fractured jaw & punctured lung, while 15-year-old son Jack was battered & bruised but not seriously injured, in the fatal accident on the M1". The Channons & Corby were returning to Berkshire, having attended the sales at Doncaster, "when the silver Mercedes driven by Corby left the southbound carriageway near Kegworth in Leicestershire & hit a concrete pillar".
