Tuesday, 26th August 2008

US Gr2-winning 4YO stallion Sightseeing (Pulpit-Resort, by Pleasant Colony) "has been retired & will begin his stud career in 2009 at Richland Hills in Kentucky," reported thoroughbredtimes.com. On the track, Sightseeing (a Phipps Stable home-bred) won 2 of 18 starts (including the 2007 Gr2 Peter Pan Stakes at Belmont Park, plus placings in the Gr1 Wood Memorial Stakes, Gr2 Dwyer Stakes, Gr2 Jim Dandy Stakes, Gr3 Nashua Stakes & Westchester Handicap) & earned US$508,401. His family includes stakes-winning sires All Gone, Serious Spender & Russian Roubles, as well as multiple Gr1-winners Val's Prince & Goodbye Halo. Richland Hills president Nathan Fox enthused: "Sightseeing went toe-to-toe with top 3YOs belonging to one of the best crops in recent memory. He is a very impressive individual who has great stamina & soundness and, together with his great pedigree, is one of the most exciting stallion prospects for 2009. We are thrilled to welcome him to our roster."
