1st Redoute's Yearling Offered In Nth Hemisphere
A filly by flagship Arrowfield Stud stallion & former Australian Champion sire Redoute's Choice (Danehill-Shantha's Choice by Canny Lad) has been catalogued for auction at Europe's premier yearling sale: Book 1 of the UK Tattersalls October Sale (October 7-9). The January-foaled filly (out of Gr2-winning Rory's Jester mare Catnipped) will be the 1st yearling by Australia's most expensive stallion (2008 fee $330,000) to be offered in the Northern Hemisphere. The half or 3/4-sister to 4 winners (including Danehill's stakes-placed son Fangio) will be consigned from Lord Lloyd-Webber's Watership Down Stud on behalf of breeder Carl Holt. Tattersalls chairman Edmond Mahony commented: "Redoute's Choice is a world class sire & she is a lovely filly, so it is exciting to have the 1st Redoute's Choice yearling ever to be offered outside Australia or New Zealand." Arrowfield managing director John Messara added: "This yearling resulted from the 1st year of Redoute's Choice's Northern Hemisphere matings in Australia. The 1st Redoute's Choice foal to be sold outside Australia or NZ was offered recently at the JRHA Select Foal Sale in Japan & was very well received. So we look forward to another successful result at Tattersalls in October."
