NY Yearlings Day-1: US$700k Rock Hard Ten Colt
Thoroughbred Legends Racing Partnership paid US$700,000 for a Rock Hard Ten-Tapstress colt (consigned by Gainesway as agent). Thoroughbred Legends (buying for the 1st time at public auction) was started earlier this year & "is the brainchild of Olin Gentry & Thomas Gaines of Gaines-Gentry Thoroughbreds, plus investment banker Tripp Hardy," noted bloodhorse.com. Plans announced in early June "included the intent to raise US$75-125 million by late August to buy young horses that would be selected with the help of & trained by Bob Baffert, D.Wayne Lukas & Nick Zito". Overall Thoroughbred Legends paid US$1,205,000 for 3 horses.
