Coolmore shuttler & US Gr1 Kentucky Derby winner Fusaichi Pegasus (Mr Prospector-Angel Fever, by Danzig) is not returning to Australia this year. He will instead travel from his Northern Hemisphere base at Coolmore's Ashford Stud in Kentucky (where he began duties in 2001 & currently stands for US$45,000) to Liliana Solari's Haras Don Alberto in Chile for the upcoming Southern Hemisphere season, reported thoroughbredtimes.com. In 5 crops of racing age, 11-year-old Fusaichi Pegasus (who previously shuttled to both Australia & Japan) has sired 301 winners (32 stakes-winners) from 527 starters that have earned US$31,482,392. His star progeny include: 2006-07 Australian champion 3YO male & dual Gr1-winning miler Haradasun; 2007 Gr1 Hong Kong Classic Mile winner Floral Pegasus; 2005 US Gr1 Haskell Invitational Stakes winner Roman Ruler; 2005 US Gr1 Toyota Blue Grass Stakes winner Bandini; & 2005 US Gr1 Belmont Stakes runner-up Andromeda's Hero. Haras Don Alberto (breeders of Gr1-winners Total Impact & Noches de Rosa) also stands stallions Stuka, Ithaki, Special Quest & 1st-year sire Total Impact.
