Tuesday, 20th November 2007

In the UK, exciting 2YO colt Kingsgate Native (Mujadil-Native Force, by Indian Ridge) "only the 5th horse in racing history to land the Gr1 Nunthorpe Stakes as a juvenile, will retire to Cheveley Park Stud upon completion of his racing career but will remain in training for the 2008 season with his current owner John Mayne," reported thoroughbredinternet.com. Kingsgate Native started 4 times this year: he finished 2nd in the Listed Windsor Castle Stakes at Royal Ascot on debut; then 2nd in the Gr3 Molecomb Stakes (5 furlongs) at Glorious Goodwood; he then "entered the history books with his famous Nunthorpe win (over 5 furlong against older horses) at York in August"; & finished the season with a 2nd against older horses in France's Gr1 Prix de l'Abbaye de Longchamp (1000m) in October.
