More British Racing Broadcasts To Aust & US
Export of live British racing "is about to be given a boost on both sides of the world, with Australia doubling its weekly intake & simulcasts appearing at New York's 36-day Saratoga meeting for the 1st time," reported racingpost.co.uk. Racing UK's international distributor (the South African racetrack & betting operator Phumelela) "has expanded its arrangement with Sky Channel in Australia to take 2 UK meetings every Thursday from August 23, to add to its existing Saturday coverage"; British racing appeared with a single fixture in October 2006 & 2nd Saturday meeting "was included from the start of this Flat season". In New York, the mingling of live racing from UK courses with the traditional Saratoga meeting "is being backed with a marketing campaign by its owner, the New York Racing Association".
