Triple Canadian Champ Eternal Search Euthanased

The 3-time Canadian champion Eternal Search (Northern Afleet-Bon Debarras, by Ruritania) was euthanased at Ontario's Curraghmore Farm aged 29 "after developing cancer in her nose which caused continual bleeding," reported bloodhorse.com. Eternal Search had been retired as a broodmare for the last 6 years (6 of her 9 foals to race were winners). On the track, she recorded 18 wins (15 stakes) & 13 placings from 44 starts for US$640,000 earnings & earned Sovereign Awards as Canada's champion sprinter in 1981 & then champion older female in both 1982 & 1983.
