RNSW Accepts Hayson Apology

Tuesday, 17th July 2007

Meanwhile Racing NSW also announced that, during a meeting last Tuesday (July 10), a Sub-Committee of the Racing NSW Board met with Edward Hayson & his solicitor William O'Brien & "Hayson was afforded the opportunity to explain the comments he made in an interview with Craig Tompson broadcast on Radio Station 2SM on May 19". As a result, Hayson "expressed an apology to the Racing NSW Board for these comments & withdrew his suggestion that RNSW chairman of stewards Ray Murrihy had a personal vendetta against him, & wishes to apologise for those words". In addition "in relation to the Passenger Inquiry, Hayson explained he was upset & acted inappropriately & gave a solemn undertaking to the Board of Racing NSW that he will conduct himself with proper decorum at any future inquiry". The Racing NSW Board resolved yesterday that it "should accept a letter of apology in relation to the above from Hayson's solicitor & no further action would be necessitated".
