Hard To Catch Wins Glasshouse Handicap

On the same card at Caloundra, 5YO gelding Hard To Catch (Dodge-Mrs Bligh, by Celestial Bounty) scored very narrowly in the $175,000 Listed Glasshouse Handicap (1400m). Brad Stewart was the winning rider for trainer Patt Duff, and after weaving his through traffic, got Hard To Catch home just a short half-head clear of 7YO gelding Our Lord Monty (His Royal Highness-Montine Rose, by Otehi Bay). Third, only a further half-head back, was fellow 5YO gelding Ten To Countdown (Nuclear Freeze-In Orbit, by Sackford). Hard To Catch (a $25,000 yearling at the 2003 Magic Millions Summer Sale) now has 11 wins (including the Gr3 Darley BTC Sprint at Doomben, $65,000 Listed Bribie Handicap (1200m) at Eagle Farm, Listed Prime Minister's Cup (1300m) at the Gold Coast) & 11 placings from 37 starts for $786,100 earnings.
